Vintage Watches over 50 years old…..

Before you buy a vintage watch… there are things to consider….

If you are going to older vintage you have to lower your expectations of time and accuracy.
50 years of gravity on a humans makes big differences.   the same is true on a watch.

Dont believe me..  Have a 50 year old person race a 20 year old person… ugly…. the same is true with watches.

Todays swiss are much more durable and robust..  Less than 20 years old…

Price point matters…  Less than $500….   will run ok.. or good enough..  unless it a quartz… Things get real good at $1800 and up….

Watches are simply obsolete…  as good a a horse and buggy whip… but they do carry stories and heritage…

Today’s battery and quartz watches have no humanity in building them…  good and accurate…
The true mechanicals all have a personality of there own, and require humans to create and maintenance …. the older they get the less accurate they can be.
So these are statement watches…

So do you want pure accuracy or heritage…  you cant get both unless you spend a bit more, in the mechanical watch world.

There are no right and wrong answers…  just what fits your life style.
